Glynwood's mission is to cultivate just and resilient food systems so that farmers, land, and communities thrive.
Located in the countryside of Cold Spring, New York, on a 250 acre farm, Glynwood Center for Regional Food and Farming is an organization serving food and farming changemakers from New York’s Hudson Valley and beyond.
Glynwood advances local food production here in our region, as well as educates a national audience about efforts to regionalize food and agriculture. We are inspired by, and contribute to, aligned work far beyond the borders of the Hudson Valley.
Beyond our work at the forefront of regional food systems, we share our beautiful property with clients through weddings, photoshoots, retreats and private events.
A Gathering Place with a Greater Purpose
When you host your event at Glynwood, you help sustain 250 acres of working farmland and the farmers, communities, and food systems that depend on it.
Our History
In 1929, the financier George Perkins, his wife Linn, and his mother Evelyna Ball Perkins, purchased land that became Glynwood Farm. They brought with them a deep conservation ethic, inspired by Mr. Perkins’ father - George Walbridge Perkins - who in the late 19th century led the way to the creation of the Palisades Interstate Parkway Commission, and served as its first President. To date, the Commission has conserved more than 100,000 acres of land in New York and New Jersey.

Upon Mrs. Perkins' death in 1993, her family preserved the property — adding 1,700 acres to Fahnestock State Park while creating a 250-acre campus dedicated to conservation and community stewardship. Glynwood is forever grateful to the Perkins family, who owned this land for almost seven decades. Their long-view commitment to the future health of this region continues to make our mission possible.
Purpose-Driven Work
Our approach is comprehensive—we support the entire value chain for local, regeneratively grown food: from the soil, to farmers, to markets, to all of our neighbors’ tables, with a steadfast emphasis on food access and equity. Through strategic collaboration with an extensive network of over 200 farms and community partners, we advance local food production, promote regenerative agriculture in service of our natural environment, and share the harvest widely.
Our four integrated core strategies uplift the health and vitality of the Hudson Valley's food system: training and supporting the next generation of regenerative farmers, increasing food access and equity, cultivating climate-resilient solutions for small and mid-scale farms, and fostering markets and movements to improve regional resilience
